| This dome top trunk, manufactured by Carpeles, Hartmann & CO. of Milwaukee, is in very good shape and includes inside trays and compartments. Latch has patent of 1872. The trunk is 30" x 16" and stands 17" high to the shoulder and 20" to the top of the dome. Covering is tin decorated with spot on spots. Carpeles, Hartmann & CO. incorporated into Hartmann Trunk Company in 1889 so this trunk would pre-date that. That fact and the makers label makes this a rare find. |
